Match Report by St@tto

Harriers returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory at Liberty Way that lifts them to fourth in the league.

Showing just one change - Tyrone Williams coming in for the injured Jared Hodgkiss - to the side that had drawn with Chorley three days earlier Harriers got off to a great start when James McQuilkin fired them ahead after just five minutes.  Pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area he lashed his shot past Callum Burton in the Town goal and in off the far post.

The home side had some brief moments of opportunity; on the quarter-hour David Morgan broke clear on the right but his shot towards the far post was pushed around the upright by Sam Hornby at the expense of a corner.

McQuilkin had a chance to increase the lead on 28 minutes when Zaine Francis-Angol got to the byline on the left and pulled the ball back but Burton made a good save to deny McQuilkin with his legs.  Burton was at fault, however, as Harriers added a second seven minutes before the interval; flapping at Arthur Gnahoua's corner from the right he allowed the ball to reach the head of Mani Dieseruvwe who nodded in his second goal of the season.  Before the break a McQuilkin header was deflected away from goal for another corner.

Early in the second half Harriers continued to dominate the game and Tyrell Waite did well to create an opening for himself with a run through the inside-right channel and across the face of the penalty area but his finish let him down, firing high and wide.  Moments later Dieseruvwe set him up for another shooting chance but this time he fired into the side netting.

Harriers were enjoying the lion's share of the possession, although after their disappointing first half performance the hosts had more purpose about them, and created enough chances to have won the game even more convincingly.  Midway through the half Francis-Angol and Gnahoua combined on the left to set up the lively McQuilkin who fired narrowly wide at the far post.

Nuneaton gave Harriers a scare fifteen minutes from the end when Morgan's free-kick struck the crossbar.

Harriers finished the game on top; in the last minute Liam Truslove's long pass picked out Dieseruvwe on the right who broke into the penalty area but saw his shot deflected away for a corner.
