Match Report by St@tto

Harriers fought back from two goals down but were ultimately beaten by one of their closest rivals in the fight against relegation.

A terrible first half performance from The Reds saw them penned back by the home side and rarely able to get out of their own half.  Showing just one change from the side that was beaten at Braintree in midweek - Tyrone Williams returning to the starting line-up in place of Jordan Jones - Harriers fell behind after less than ten minutes.  As has so often been the case throughout the season they failed to defend a corner properly and when the ball was played back into the penalty area Nathan Smith's overhead kick came back of the crossbar and rebounded into the net off the back of Dean Snedker.

United should have gone further ahead shortly afterwards when Danny Racchi's free-kick was met by the head of Toby Ajala but his diving attempt went wide of the post.  Three minutes before the break the second goal finally came; a cross from the left found former Harrier Nathan Blissett who headed home at the far post.

After the break Harriers showed more purpose and pulled a goal back after just five minutes; Lewis Kinsella's free-kick from deep on the right found Kelvin Langmead whose looping header beat Dan Lavercombe and gave Harriers a lifeline.

Just ahead of the hour mark Ben Whitfield made a strong run through the inside-left channel but fired wide before Harriers drew level moments later.  Arthur Gnahoua received the ball on the right from Whitfield and made a run across the face of the penalty area before firing low into the bottom corner to record his fourth goal of the season.

Harriers could have taken the lead when Kinsella's free-kick found Luke Maxwell but his header was well saved by Lavercombe; from the resultant corner Langmead saw a goalbound header blocked.

The home team found a winner with nine minutes remaining in controversial circumstances; again Harriers couldn't defend a corner and when the ball dropped to Smith he clearly punched it into the net but none of the officials saw the offence and the goal was allowed to stand, consigning Harriers to yet anouther defeat and leaving them rooted to the foot of the table.
