Match Report by St@tto

For the second time in three games Harriers were beaten by a goal in the last ten minutes in a game they deserved to get something out of.

Unchanged from the side that had beaten Woking at the weekend Harriers started the game well looking string at the back and passing the ball around despite the home team having the bulk of the possession in the first quarter of an hour.

Michael Gash had a good chance to open the scoring on 25 minutes but he headed wide of the goal at the far post from Kevin Nicholson's deep left wing cross.  Goalscoring opportunities were limited for both sides in the first half; Harriers had most of them but both sides only managed to test the keeper once.

The game was scrappy not helped by a regular stream of free-kicks as the referee seemed reluctant to let the game flow and the home side took every opportunity to go to ground in an attempt to seek an advantage.  Throughout the game Harriers picked up four yellow cards for fouls while the home team escaped with lectures at worst for comparable incidents.

In the second half Harriers had more of the ball and created better chances.  Five minutes after the break Marvin Johnson made a strong run through the middle but his shot from the edge of the penalty area was weak and straight at Dan Bachmann in the home goal.

Gash headed wide from another Nicholson cross before Wrexham took the lead on 84 minutes against the run of play, Elliott Durrell scoring with a deflected shot after Harriers had failed to clear their lines.

Straight from the restart Aman Verma went close but his shot dipped just over the bar and deep in stoppage time Gash's cross-field pass found Johnson on the left who cut inside but fired his shot just wide across the face of goal.
