Match Report by St@tto

Harriers' defences were finally breached as they threw away a two-goal lead to draw, ending the game with ten men.

Chey Dunkley was hero and villain for Harriers scoring the second as the team raced into an early lead but he was sent off in the first minute of the second half for deliberate handball.

The game had started incredibly well for Harriers; Callum Gittings steering the ball home on six minutes after Chester failed to clear a corner and Craig Reid's shot had been blocked on the line.  Former Harriers boss Steve Burr's return soon became a nightmare as Dunkley headed in the second two minutes later from another corner.

Midway through the half Gittings went close to increasing the lead with a looping header from Marvin Johnson's cross but Danny Taylor was back on the line to clear.  In stoppage time at the end of the half Johnson went on a surging run on the right past Gareth Roberts but his shot was saved by Freddie Hall at the expense of a corner.

The game turned on its head in the opening moments of the second half when Dunkley needlessly handled a goal-bound shot on the goalline and was sent off.  Danny Lewis came to the rescue, though, diving to his right to save Chris Iwelumo's poorly struck penalty.

The visitors pressed forward with a men advantage but Harriers stood firm and looked unlikely to be broken down for most of the half.  On the hour, though, the visitors went close when John Rooney's shot was parried by Lewis and Sean McConville hit the follow-up against the far post under pressure from Jared Hodgkiss.

As time wore on, however, Chester took control of the game and Harriers were forced to defend deeper and deeper.  With 15 minutes left Peter Winn's corner from the right was headed wide of the far post by Michael Kay.

After 80 minutes Chester pulled a goal back, the first conceded by Harriers in 529 minutes, Craig Hobson heading in at the far post from a right-wing cross.  Two minutes later they were level; Roberts' header crashed against the bar and Wayne Riley was on hand to fire in the rebound.  In the last minute Chester nearly snatched a winner but McConville's shot flashed across the face of goal and just inches wide of the far post.
