Match Report by St@tto

Harriers left it late but managed to record their first victory in six games to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Gary Whild made changes to the side that had drawn at Forest Green in midweek with Adrian Cieslewicz coming into the starting line-up in place of Amari Morgan-Smith who dropped down to the bench.  Callum Gittings returned from suspension on the bench while Anthony Malbon was left out of the sixteen completely.

Harriers were the better side throughout but wasted numerous chances to open the scoring; Michael Gash had an early sighter that was deflected away for a corner then had half the ground thinking he had scored with a 20-yard curler that rippled the outside of the net.

For the rest of the half Harriers huffed and puffed without really testing Lee Butcher in the United half.  After the break Harriers continued to dominate and should have taken the lead on 67 minutes when Morgan-Smith was brought down in the penalty area by Blaine Hudson.  Morgan-Smith himself took the spot-kick but Butcher dived away to his left to keep the shot out.

Shortly afterwards Morgan-Smith's corner from the left found an unmarked Jack Byrne who was making a late run to the far post but he headed wide.  Harriers finally made the breakthrough 13 minutes from the end Gash on hand to fire in from close range at the second attempt after being set up by Byrne.

Harriers made the game safe six minutes from the end; Gittings did well to first win and then control the ball on the right before crossing to the far post where Nathan Blissett met the ball with a bullet header.
