Match Report by St@tto

Harriers are still looking for their first home win over Luton after they were undone by two second half penalties.

A poor game saw the visitors frustrate Harriers and prevent them from playing in the manner that they would have liked.  The sides were evenly matched and for long periods of the game cancelled each other out.

It was over half an hour before the game came to life; Town's André Gray jinked his way to the byline on the right but his pull-back hit Jake Howells and went wide of the far post.  At the other end Callum Gittings an Michael Gash combined to set up Joe Lolley, who was making his first start, but his shot from the edge of the penalty area was saved by Mark Tyler.  A Hatters counter-attack could have broken the deadlock, Gray pressed forward on the right and his low cross to the far post found Howells who blasted high and wide.

Early in the second half Chey Dunkley came to the rescue for Harriers, deflecting the shot over the bar after good work by Luke Guttridge created a chance for himself.

With twenty minutes left and the game looking set to end in a goalless draw a short back-pass by Dunkley put Danny Lewis in trouble and he bundled over Paul Benson to give away a penalty.  Howells took the spot kick and sent Lewis the wrong way to open the scoring.

Ten minutes later the game was effectively ended when Josh Gowling was adjudged to have fouled Gray; this time it was the linesman who signalled the offence with the referee unsighted.  Howells took the kick and again sent Lewis the wrong way, although this time the keeper did get a foot to it.

Harriers ended the game with ten men; with all three substitutions made Callum Gittings had to be helped from the field with an ankle injury as a result of a challenge by Andy Parry.
