Match Report by St@tto

Harriers lost for the first time in seven games at fogbound Bootham Crescent.

Even though thick fog made for a poor game from a neutral point of view, it was a lacklustre performance from Harriers that ended their seven-game winning streak.

New signing Michael Gash had to wait on the bench for his debut, but Callum Gittings came back into the side for Keith Briggs.

The home team had the best of the possession in the first half with Danny Lewis having to save from Carl Magnay to keep the scores level. At the other end James Vincent and Marvin Johnson went close for Harriers.

Jamie Chandler gave the Tynesiders the lead on 70 minutes; Gash, on as a sub for Greg Pearson, had a great chance to level the scores with seven minutes left but blasted his shot from close range high over the bar.

As Harriers threw everybody forward in search of an equaliser Gateshead sealed the win in stoppage time with a breakaway goal scored by Liam Hatch.

Despite the defeat Harriers held on to second place in the league, although now only ahead of Mansfield and Newport on goal difference.
