Match Report by St@tto

A goal four minutes and fifty seconds into stoppage time from Russ Penn gave Harriers victory in a game that they struggled to impose themselves on and looked set to suffer disappointment in.

There were two changes to the side from the team that were held to a goalless draw at Weymouth in the FA Trophy in the previous game; Jeff Kenna and Simon Russell came into the starting line-up at the expense of Paul Bignot and Dean Bennett who both dropped down to the substitutes' bench.

A dull opening period in which Harriers had the best of the possession came to life after 16 minutes when the visitors took the lead against the run of play.  Michael Blackwood lost the ball in midfield, allowing Damien Reeves a clear run at goal through the inside-left channel and he slotted a low shot past Scott Bevan from the edge of the penalty area.  Harriers created a number of chances throughout the rest of the half but poor finishing meant that Curtis Aspden in the Celtic goal was not troubled.

After the break Harriers were better and drew level five minutes into the half.  Michael McGrath played the ball in from the left wing to James Constable who turned on the edge of the box and hit a low shot to the far post to record his 13th goal of the season.  Just before the hour mark Harriers nearly fell behind again when they left Roy Stamer unmarked in acres of space on the left wing but Bevan did well to push his shot away for a corner as it arrowed towards the top corner.

Not long afterwards Penn went close at the other end; a free-kick from deep on the left was laid off by Stuart Whitehead to Penn whose shot was tipped away by Aspden for a corner.  Harriers had most of the possession but didn't look like they would get the second goal that they needed but deep into stoppage time Penn popped up at the far post to meet Kenna's deep cross from the right and send a looping header over the keeper into the back of the net to win the game and break Farsley's hearts.
