Match Report by St@tto
Records tumbled as five-star Harriers humbled bottom club Exeter at St James' Park and lifted themselves right back into the play-offs.

For the first time as a Football League club Harriers scored five goals, and for the first time had a player with a hat-trick.  Bo Henriksen's triple took his tally for the season to 17 making him the second highest scorer in the division.

Harriers got off to the worst possible start, however, when Sean Devine was allowed time and space in the six-yard area to turn on Andy Roscoe's long throw and tuck a shot under Fraser Digby after just two minutes.  Harriers took a while to settle, shaken by the early goal they seemed to be in too much of a hurry to make ammends and were not completely in control of their play.  After nine minutes Drewe Broughton wasted a glorious chance but blazed his shot wildly over the crossbar.

As the Harriers began to gain some compsure they took control of the game and the equaliser eventually arrived in the 25th minute.  A long ball out of defence was played to JJ Melligan on the right and his low cross found Henriksen unmarked in the penalty area who turned the ball in under Kevin Miller in The Grecians' goal.

Once back on level terms Harriers were clearly the better side and Exeter heads began to drop, ten minutes before the break Harriers almost went ahead.  Melligan got to the byline on the right and his cross to the far post was headed over by Henriksen when Broughton was better placed behind him to have finished the move off.  Two minutes later the lively Melligan found Sam Shilton with an searching crossfield pass, Shilton's cross to the far post found Sean Flynn who saw his shot saved by Miller.

Exeter were unable to withstand the barrage of Harriers attacks for much longer and after 38 minutes the visitors went ahead, Dean Bennett's innocuous seeming cross from the right was sliced over Miller by the hapless Adrian Whitbread and looped into his own net.  In the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the half Harriers went further ahead, Bennett did well to run onto Melligan's over-hit pass into the penalty area but he was upended by Roscoe and referee Crick had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot.  Henriksen took the ball off Melligan who wanted to take the kick and calmly stepped forward to send Miller the wrong way tucking his shot inside the keeper's left-hand post.

At the interval Exeter boss Neil McNab made a doulble substitution removing both of his wing-backs and pushing a third man up front.  James Coppinger, who came on as the third striker, soon made an impact pulling a goal back in the second minute of the half with a crisply struck shot at the far post after a deep cross from the left.  The goal was only a temporary respite for Exeter, Harriers continued to attack in waves and after 52 minutes Henriksen had a glorious chance to complete his hat trick when a through ball set him clear on goal but he hesitated too long and allowed Miller to saved at his feet.

Two minutes later the fourth goal did arrive, Broughton found Henriksen in the inside right channel and he made no mistake from 12 yards out, his shot going in off the crossbar and the body of Miller.  Within seconds Harriers had found the net again, Melligan foud Bennett on the right and his cross was guided in by the head of Broughton.

Harriers were attacking from all parts of the pitch, Craig Hinton attacked and got into the penalty area after 63 minutes but then showed why he is a defender by trade by being unable to get past Miller who saved well at his feet.

Broughton had another chance to score but headed wide while Adie Smith and Danny Williams bot had good chances saved by Miller who performed heroics to keep the score down.  Exeter's defensive performance showed why they are bottom of the league and they could not have had any complaints had Harriers taken more of their chances and won by an even greater margin.
