Match Report
Harriers crashed out of the FA Cup after a very disappointing game, losing to a controversial goal and so missing out on a big cash handout.

The visitors started on the attack and almost took the lead in the opening minutes when a corner caused confusion in the Harriers penalty area. The game didn't, however, live up to this exciting start, and soon descended into mediocrity. Harriers didn't create a good chance until the half-hour Bennett's right wing cross was met by the head of Tony Bird, standing in for flu victim Drewe Broughton, but his effort was cleared off the line by Brightwell.

After the break, Harriers stepped up the pressure and created a string of chances, but were let down by poor finishing. Darlington took the lead against the run of play. The ball was knocked out of play and a throw awarded to the visitors when Hariers felt it should have gone to them, Simon Betts broke free on the right, and his cross to the far post was met by the head of Campbell.

Without their first choice front line, Harriers lacked a cutting edge in attack despite creating a sackful chances. The closest they came to an equaliser was when Scott Stamps powered a header against the inside of the post and saw it bounce along the goal line. Sam Shilton also had a good shot saved and Collett had to react quickly to pounce on the loose ball before Tony Bird could stab it into the net.
