Young Harriers Through In Senior Cup: Stourbridge 0-1 Harriers
A goal two minutes from time by trialist Jordan Murphy saw Harriers through into the semi-final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
Harriers now travel to Evesham on Thursday evening for a semi-final that is a repeat of last season's third-place play-off.
A team made up largely of youngsters and trialists had the best of a scrappy game throughout although the home side were quickest out of the blocks with a couple of attacks that didn't test Jono Brown in the Harriers goal.
Harriers created most, if not all, of the clear-cut chances with James Hancocks, a trialist and James McQuilkin all going close before the break. The best chance, though, fell to Murphy who fired straight at The Glassboys' keeper.
After the break the game continued to be scrappy with few good chances. Both teams, though, were not backwards in coming forward when it came to tackling with heavy challenges coming in from all areas.
Former Harrier Justin Richards tested Brown but after parrying the shot the keeper was quickest to react and gather the loose ball. With two minutes to go Harriers made the breakthrough, Murphy was played through on the right and calmly slotted the ball through the keeper's legs to sink his former team and send Harriers through.
