Pre-Season Underway With Draw: Stratford Town 1-1 Harriers
Harriers got their pre-season programme underway with a 1-1 draw at Stratford's Knight's Lane home.
Giving nearly everybody in the squad, plus a number of trialists, a run-out Harriers played a different side in each half.
As is often the case in the early pre-season games there was little in the way of goalmouth excitement or clear patterns of play. Harriers enjoyed a decent amount of possession but didn't really test the Stratford goalkeeper, instead efforts from Elton Ngwatala, Jared Hodgkiss and Mani Diesereuvwe were all from distance and wayward.
A different Harriers line-up after the break included new signing Andre Brown who gave the visitors the lead with a confidently taken penalty after Ousmane Fané had been brought down. The lead was short-lived, though, as Stratford were given a penalty of their own; Richard Gregory saw his penalty saved by Harriers' trialist keeper but managed to get to the loose ball first to prod home the leveller.
Harriers' best chance to win the game fell late on to Tyrone Williams but he fired over the bar having ghosted forward from right back.
