Match Report by St@tto

Harriers still search for their first home win of the season but had to thank Sam Hornby for a penalty save to earn them a point.

After their midweek disappointment against Brackley Harriers, fielding the same team for the third game in-a-row, started brightly and could have taken an early lead when Elton Ngwatala's strong run lead to Jared Hodgkiss getting a sight of goal but he fired his shot just over the bar.

Harriers then suffered a setback a quarter of an hour in when Hodgkiss had to be replaced, Tyrone Williams coming on for his first appearance of the season.  Neither goalkeeper was  tested in the first half as the visitors looked content to contain Harriers; Tyrell Waite managed the only on-target effort of the half but his shot on the half-hour mark was easy for Sam Ashton in the Chorley goal to gather.

Early after the interval a James McQuilkin free-kick in the inside-right channel beat the wall but flew over the bar and just ahead of the hour another strong run by Ngwatala, from well inside his own half, set up Mani Dieseruvwe but his shot was deflected for a corner.

On 72 minutes Chorley were handed a golden opportunity to open the scoring when Keith Lowe was adjudged ot have fouled Kieran Charnock but Paul Jarvis' spot-kick was at the perfect height for Hornby to save diving away to his right.

Harriers' best chance of the game came eight minutes from time Dieseruvwe's pass found Williams on the right and his cross to the far post picked out an unmarked Zaine Francis-Angol who sent his free header straight at Ashton.
