Match Report by St@tto

Jared Hodgkiss was sent off for the first time in his career as Harriers slipped to a disappointing defeat against Aldershot.

Josh Gowling returned to the starting line-up as the only change from the side that had beaten Torquay United last time out but Harriers never reached the level of performance that they had in that game.

The match was poor throughout with little to excite the spectators from either side.  After Danny Lewis was called into action early on to tip Dan Holman's shot over the bar and Mark Molesley had fired wide the game became bogged down in midfield.  It was ten minutes before the break that Harriers crafted a decent opening; Nathan Blissett's flick-on found Craig Reid who fed the ball to Marvin Johnson on the left who fired across the face of goal, the ball taking a touch somewhere en route and earning a corner.

The game slipped away from Harriers just two minutes after the interval when Hodgkiss fouled Andre McCollin in the penalty area and was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.  Brett Williams took the spot-kick, sending Lewis the wrong way.

Just ahead of the hour Harriers went close to an equaliser but Chey Dunkley headed over the bar from Kevin Nicholson's free-kick.  On 73 minutes Town wrapped up the game; Molesley cutting in from the right before despatching a low shot past Lewis inside the far post.  Another Nicholson free-kick from the right in the last ten minutes could have earned Harriers a consolation but Aman Verma headed wide when he had time to do better.
