Match Report by St@tto

Harriers came from behind to record their fourth draw in five games and came controversially close to snatching a win.

After a typical game-of-two-halves in which the home side dominated the first but the visitors turned things round after the break to take control of the game Harriers had a the ball in the net in the last minute but the goal was eventually ruled out - correctly - after lengthy discussions between the referee and one of his linesmen.

Harriers, unchanged from the side defeated by Grimsby, were on the back foot from the start with the home side flying out of the blocks.  In the first four minutes James Norwood had four good chances to open the scoring but poor finishing and Danny Lewis ensured that the score remained goalless.

Eddie Oshodi headed against the crossbar from Anthony Barry's corner as Rovers continued to press before Paul Green opened the scoring in the 12th minute.  Yan Klukowski made a strong run through the inside-right channel and into the penalty area; his shot was parried but the ball ran straight to Green who was left with an easy finish.

Harriers could barely get out of their own half in the opening period but after the break it was a different story and they levelled the scores after just three minutes.  Amari'i Bell won the ball on the left and set Mickey Demetriou away on the wing, he got to the byline before pulling the ball back to Nick Wright who swept in his first goal since returning to the club.

Shortly afterwards Amari Morgan-Smith did well to win the ball on the right wing, passing to Lee Vaughan whose cross to the far post was headed over by Josh O'Keefe.

Harriers dominated the second half in the way that Forest Green had in the first and they pressed for a winner that wouldn't come.  Adrian Cieslewicz made a jinking run into the penalty area past a couple of defenders before seeing his shot parried by Sam Russell.  Mickey Demetriou saw a header come back off the inside of the post and former Harrier Lee Hughes made a last ditch clearance to keep another Harriers attack from ending with a goal.

In the last minute Harriers had the ball in the net, O'Keefe rising at the far post to bundle it in.  Initially the goal was awarded but, much to the consternation of the home players, O'Keefe had clearly pushed the ball into the net with his hands.  Eventually, after a lengthy discussion between referee and linesman who both appeared unsure as to what had happened, the goal was ruled out and Harriers had to settle for just a point that reduces the gap to the play-offs to six points.
