A third clean sheet in four games maintained Gary Whild's unbeaten start as manager and moved Harriers back into a play-off position. Whild made a couple of enforced changes to the side due to injury and illness, bringing in Nathan Blissett to the starting line-up in place of Michael Gash while Jack Byrne came in for Josh O'Keefe and Tyrone Williams was included on the bench for his first involvement of the season. The game was a very dour encounter with little goalmouth incident. Harriers best chance of the game came after just 16 minutes; Callum Gittings' corner from the left found Josh Gowling 6 yards out from goal but he headed over the bar. Anthony Malbon also went close with a curling effort from the edge of the penalty area but it went just wide of the far post. Twelve minutes from time Harriers managed their first shot on target; Malbon's shot was blocked and Amari Morgan-Smith lifted the rebound over the bar. With time running out the home team should have grabbed a winner but substitute Jordan Roberts headed wide when unmarked. Nonetheless the point was enough to lift Harriers back up into fifth place although the five teams immediately behind them are all within two points. |
