Match Report by St@tto

A typical game-of-two-halves saw Harriers storm into a two-goal lead before spending much of the second half with their backs to the wall.

Despite making hard work of seeing out the game Harriers recorded their first win in four games to arrest  an alarming slump in results.

Things got off to a great start for Harriers who welcomed back Callum Gittings, Amari Morgan-Smith and Jack Byrne to the starting line-up; Michael Gash firing them ahead after just eight minutes with a brilliantly executed free-kick that curled round the wall and just inside Daniel Lloyd-Weston's left-hand post.

Joe Lolley was lively on the right wing, causing The Bulls numerous problems, and forced Lloyd-Weston into a couple of saves.  Harriers doubled their advantage on 28 minutes; a good team passing move saw Gittings set up Danny Jackman to fire in his first goal of the season.

Morgan-Smith had a good chance to add to the score but fired over the bar and then was denied by a well-timed header by Luke Graham as he looked to get on the end of Lee Vaughan's cross.

After the interval Hereford showed more purpose and pulled a goal back in the 49th minute; Josh O'Keefe stabbing the ball home after Harriers failed to deal with a corner from the right.

Hereford threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, pumping a lot of long balls at the Harriers defence but they managed to deal with most of it without too many scares.  Going forward, though, Harriers showed little compared to the first half and didn't cause Lloyd-Weston any problems.

The victory lifted Harriers back up into the play-off places although nine points behind leaders Cambridge and eight behind next opponents Luton.
