Match Report by St@tto

Goals in each half, from Michael Gash and Joe Lolley, helped Harriers exorcise Saturday's defeat at Dartford.

After the lacklustre performance at Prince's Park at the weekend Harriers were back to their slick best, apparently saving all of their best performances for midweek games.

Steve Burr made changes to the side that had lost last time out, bringing in Danny Jackman for Jack Byrne and Lolley for James Dance. Lolley was quickly in the heart of the action, his tricky running with the ball and his pace giving the Halifax defence all sorts of problems.

Lolley was involved as Harriers took the lead on 21 minutes; his battling ensured that Town couldn't get the ball away and he was able to guide it to Gash who turned well on the edge of the penalty area before despatching a low shot in off the far post.

For all of their dominance Harriers couldn't increase their lead before the break, the closest they came was Anthony Malbon's curled shot from distance the went narrowly wide and they had to rely on Nathan Vaughan to keep them in front with a fingertip save to deny Matty Pearson.

Just before the hour mark Harriers increased their lead; Lee Fowler's fantastic crossfield pass picked out Lolley on the right wing, he cut inside past two defenders before unleashing a powerful shot to the top corner that left Town 'keeper Matt Glennon frozen to the spot as he watched it sail by him.

On another night Harriers might have won the game by four or five goals but had to settle for two against a Shaymen side that refused to roll over despite being second best by some distance. Nonetheless Harriers' seventh win of the season lifted them back up to third place in the league.
