Match Report by St@tto

Harriers recorded a ninth consecutive home win to keep hold of their narrow lead at the top of the Conference.

They were made to work hard for their victory by a Lincoln side fighting hard for Conference survival, however, and didn't make the game safe until the final ten minutes.

Steve Burr sent out the same starting line-up that had won at Luton in the previous game, the only change being on the bench where martin Devaney came in for James Vincent.

A scrappy first half saw little in the way of good football from either team; Danny Pilkington went close to opening the scoring for Harriers just before the quarter-hour mark with a free-kick from just outside the penalty area that beat the wall but was saved by Paul Farman.

Harriers took the lead after 26 minutes, Danny Jackman pouncing on Michael Gash's knock down to rifle in his first goal in a Harriers shirt.  Anthony Malbon went close to doubling the advantage before the break but stretching to reach Pilkington's through ball his shot didn't have the power to beat Farman and then Chey Dunkley headed over from Jackman's free-kick.

The second half was little better as a spectacle.  Harriers enjoyed more possession but were unable to break down the City defence.  With ten minutes to go Harriers finally made the game safe; Jackman found substitute Marvin Johnson on the left and his through ball set Kyle Storer free and he scored with a deft lob over Farman.

With two minutes left Lee Vaughan scored a third with a shot from a narrow angle after jinking his way into the penalty area on the right.

Unfortunately for Harriers Mansfield bounced back from their midweek defeat at Wrexham with a comfortable win at Barrow to remain a point behind The Reds in second place with two games in hand.
