Match Report by St@tto

A 14th win in 16 games moved Harriers up to second place in the Conference, within two points of leaders Wrexham.

Harriers gave an efficient performance, wrapping the game up before the break long before Alfreton - who played the second half with an outfield player in goal - were reduced to ten men.

Amari Morgan-Smith gave Harriers a dream start with his first goal for the club after just 54 seconds. Alfreton drew level just before the half-hour mark; former Harrier Dan Bradley crossing from the right for Ben Tomlinson to score with a free header.

Before the interval Harriers took control of the game and regained the lead on 37 minutes with Josh Gowling's header from Kyle Storer's free-kick. In stoppage time at the end of the half Anthony Malbon volleyed in his fifth goal in four games to join Ryan Rowe as the club's leading scorer on ten.

Alfreton keeper Phil Barnes picked up a knock in the first half and didn't come out for the second; with no sub-keeper on the bench Leigh Franks went in goal. Franks had a good game, although Harriers didn't test him enough, and when called upon he made good saves to deny Malbon, Danny Jackman and James Vincent.

With fifteen minutes remaining the visitors were reduced to ten men when Theo Streete was sent off for violent conduct after an altercation with Gowling.
