Match Report by St@tto
Harriers stretched their winless run to five games after they played for 90 minutes but The Silkmen played for 92 and saved themselves with a last gasp equaliser after Harriers had led for over half the game.

Harriers introduced new-signing Rober Betts for his debut and sprung a surprise with Adie Smith coming in at the back in place of the suspended Adam Willis rather than the expected Matt Gadsby who only made it onto the bench.  The formation reverted to the normal 5-3-2 from the 4-5-1 employed at Bristol last week.

After an early incursion into red territory by the home team that resulted in Martin Carruthers crossing tamely into the Harriers penalty area that Stuart Brock dealt with easily.  After 13 minutes Harriers had their first good attack, Adam Murray received the ball in the middle of the Macclesfield half and played a defence splitting pass through the home defence onto the left wing where Lloyd Dyer had made a good run forward, the youngster took it in his stride and then hit a dreadful shot yards wide.

Midway through the half John Miles found a pass that split the Harriers defence apart and created a shooting opportunity for Neil Ross but he blazed his shot over the bar.  Shortly afterwards Harriers were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position in the inside right channel, Danny Williams took the kick but blasted at the wall.  Fortunately for Harriers the ball spun away to Dyer who hit a blistering shot towards the top corner of the net but Glynn Myhill in the Macc goal dived away to his right to push it away.  Harriers then took the lead five minutes before the interval, Kenny Coleman won the ball on the right and played a low cross across the front edge of the penalty area to Dyer on the opposite flank, he played the ball back into the path of Williams who hit a low left-footed shot in off the far post from outside the penalty area.

After the break the home team came out with more purpose and put the Harriers under much more pressure.  Five minutes into the second half Macclesfield won a free kick that Danny Adams took, hitting it with some venom past the wall but Brock was able to push it away for a corner.  From the resulting corner Miles had a shot that Dyer cleared off the line to safety.  Shortly afterwards the home team attacked again, the ball was played in from the right to Carruthers who hit it first time on the volley but Brock made an instintcive save to push it over the bar.

Harriers were pinned back inside their own half for long spells but after 65 minutes man-of-the-match Smith brought the ball out of defence with a surging run through the centre of the field, his pass then found Bo Henriksen but the Dane's shot was pushed away by Myhill.  It appeared that Harriers would hold on for the victory and in the 89th minute they almost doubled the lead, a poor clearance by Myhill was intercepted and played inside to John Williams.  The big striker with his back to goal didn't see that the keeper was still out of position and could be beaten and instead played the ball square to Betts who ran into the penalty area but shot tamely at Myhill who had by now regained his ground.  A minute later Bishop chased and kept in a loose ball on the left wing but insted of picking out the unmarked John Williams at the far post pulled it back to Sean Flynn who miscued his shot and Myhill was able to field it easily.  The Silkmen went on the counter-attack and with the game in stoppage time the ball was played in from the right to Carruthers who flicked it on into the path of Colin Little who lifted it over the head of the onrushing Brock to break Harriers hearts and save the game for his team.
