Match Report by St@tto
Harriers' unbeaten start to their league campaign was brought shuddering to a halt after a very disappointing performance allowed Bury to record their first victory of the season.

From the start the game was dour with neither side able to take control and play their best football.  The visitors were the first to threaten on thirteen minutes when the lively Harpal Singh broke through the Harriers backline holding off Adam Willis, he snatched at his shot, however, dragging it wide of the far post when Chris Porter was unmarked and in a good position to receive a pass.

At the other end Andy Bishop had a good opportunity to open the scoring for Harriers when he curled a shot from the left edge of the penalty area towards the far post but Glyn Garner dived at full stretch to push it away for a corner.  Soon afterwards Sam Shilton was able to run through the visitors' defence but he shot wide when faced with Garner.

The Shakers took the lead after 27 minutes, Bury player-manager Andy Preece lifted the ball over the Harriers defence for Phil Charnock to run on to, he passed square to Porter who was again unmarked and left with a simple tap-in to open the scoring.  Harriers created a few chances in the opening period but wasted all of them, soon after the goal Bishop had another chance but blazed his shot over the bar.

After the break Harriers seemed more lively and in the first few minutes almost got themselves back into the game.  Two minutes into the half Sean Flynn received the ball just outside the penalty area with a clear sight of goal but his dipping drive dropped just over the bar.  A minute later, Shilton found Scott Stamps who sent a dangerous cross to the far post which found the head of Bo Henriksen.  The Dane's header was beaten away by Garner but the ball fell to him again but his woeful follw-up shot found only the side netting.

Harriers continued to have the best of the game for hte next few minutes but rarely created a clear-cut chance that would get them back into the game.  Henriksen had a couple more chances but he curled his shots wide.  The same player also had the best Harriers chance of the half racing onto a ball through the Bury defence but his attempted chip was weak and easily saved by Garner.

With fifteen minutes remaining Bury almost wrapped up the game, a deep right wing cross by Lee Unsworth found Singh at the far post but he headed back across the face of goal and, as far as Harriers were concerned, to safety.  In the last minute of regular time, though, the second goal did arrive.  The ball was played in from the right and Gareth Seddon, only just arrived as a substitute, drilled it past Stuart Brock into the far corner of the net.  In the scenes of jubilation that followed Seddon was shown the yellow card for his excessive celebration.
