Match Report
Harriers unbeaten run came to an end before it had really got started with a very disappointing defeat at bottom-of-the-league Carlisle which takes the Cumbrians off the bottom of the table.

Kidderminster started quite brightly but the game soon faded into a dour struggle between two teams who looked like they were at the foot of the league. Drewe Broughton almost headed Harriers into an early lead but his effort went narrowly wide. This was to set the pattern for the rest of the afternoon for Harriers as they never troubled Keen in the Carlisle goal until twelve minutes from the end when Ian Foster almost caugtht him out with a 20 yard shot but he pulled off a good save.

At the other end, Eric Nixon was twice called upon to keep out shots from Foran and McGill as Carlisle looked far more dangerous on the break. When they were forced to defend, however, United looked very shaky, but Harriers could not find a way through, Broughton bing the main culprit with weak and inacurate headers.

Shortly after the break Harriers' old failing of being unable to defend set-pieces cost them the match. Peter Murphy curled a corner over from the left and Richie Foran was allowed to run in unmarked at the far post to head in the winner.

Harriers toiled on for the remainder of the game and mounted quite a sustained period of pressure in the closing minutes, but apart from the Foster effort, never looked like they were going to get anything from the game.
