Match Report
Kidderminster threw away a good chance to record their first away win of the season when indiscipline overcame them and they allowed their hosts to snatch victory.

The visitors had the best of the early stages, dominating possession and preventing The Quakers from settling, the home team offered much less of a threat than in the corresponding fixture last season. However, despite having most of the ball in the opening period, Harriers were unable to get a shot on target and it was Darlington who came closest to opening the scoring when Conlon forced a save from Brock in the Harriers goal. At the other end Hadley, Bird and Blake all missed chances.

After the interval the game followed a similar pattern until Hadley wasted a good opportunity shooting straight at Collett. Soon after, however, Darlington were ahead. Parfait medou-Otye pushed Conlon in the penalty area and Mark Ford stepped up to send Stuart Brock the wrong way with the spot kick. Harriers protested the decision and Tony Bird and Brock both had their names taken.

It was at this point that Harriers became rattled, poor defending allowed Hodgson a free run on the left and he found an unmarked Danny Mallenby at the near post to make it 2-0. Medou-Otye lunged in at Conlon and referee Ryan had no hesitation in sending him off. Kidderminster captain Mark Blake found his name in the referee's notebook for the second game in a row for a mistimed tackle and the game was over in the space of five minutes.

Hadley had another shot saved, as did Conlon, and on 79 minutes Conlon had his headed goal disallowed for offside. Darlington cruised through the closing stages, but Kidderminster only have themselves to blame for defeat.
