Match Report |
After eight games without a win, Kidderminster finally record their
first victory of 2001. As in recent games Kidderminster fell behind
to an early goal, Tony Cottee demonstrating that he has lost none
of the class he gained at the highest level of the game with a classic
goalscorer's goal.
Barnet were probably the better team for most of the first half, they passed the ball around much better while Kidderminster struggled to string two passes together. It was after the break that Harriers managed their first shot on target, Neil MacKenzie forcing Harrison into a save, before his blistering shot brought the equaliser. Broughton headed Kidderminster into a deserved lead after good work by Durnin, his third goal in five games, and the home team could have had more, Harrison keeping Barnet in the game with more saves. Harriers never looked back once they were ahead and started playing with a confidence that has been missing in recent weeks, although Barnet staged a late rally but could not make a breakthrough. |
