Match Report |
Despite dominating possession and putting up a spirited fightback,
Kidderminster unluckily lost a thriller at The Shay. In controversial
circumstances, the home side took a two goal lead from two set-pieces.
In the ninth minute Steve Thompson put Halifax ahead when he was allowed to take a quick free-kick by the referee who was still trying to make the wall retreat. Halifax's second goal came from a free-kick that many inthe ground felt shouldn't have been given. Although they were two goals down, Kidderminster were the better side and after the break they got themselves back into the match when John Durnin struck his seventh goal of the season from thirteen matches. Neil MacKenzie then scored his first goal for the club from a irect free-kick. With time running out and the game heading for a draw, Halifax were awarded another free-kick which substitute Reilly swung over for Halifax's leading scorer to head home the winner. |
