Match Report |
Kidderminster cruised into the Second round with a commanding
performance against the Dr Martens League leaders. The size of the
crowd and the occasion seemed to be too much for the home team in
the first half, and apart from Anderson's header against the bar
in the first minute they wer never in the game in the first half.
The professional side took the game by the scruff of the neck and three goals in nine minutes appeared to end the contest. In truth Kidderminster could have had more before the break, Adie Smith missing twice and forcing Duke into a save. After the break Kidderminster eased off the pressure with the game apparently secure, and Burton eveentually found their feet and came into the game more. The two late goals gave them hope but Kidderminster never really looked in danger and Tony Bird's injury time strike made the scoreline more indicative of their domination. |
